  • If you can limit the amount of ram set in the driver to 2mb (or 4mb depending on how much ram your printer has).
  • If you can force the Universal driver to think you have a LaseJet 4100.
  • You might be able to get the "HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit)" to work from HP's website for the LaserJet 4100 if the following are true. Your 5M might support PCL6 drivers, but their implementation of that standard was early days, and I wouldn't trust it. However, it looks like PCL5e is not supported for 64-bit. For a time, on 32-bit systems, we where able to use the LaserJet 4000 PCL5e or PostScript driver with the 5M, if we limited the amount of ram the driver thinks the printer has.
